Veterinary Surgeons

Siuna Ann Reid

Siuna graduated from Glasgow University Veterinary School in 1990 and worked in Thornton-Cleveleys before buying this practice in 1995. The practice was originally on Alexandra Road but a move became necessary to accommodate the growing numbers of staff & new equipment! In 2000 the practice moved to Greenways. Siuna enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery with a particular interest in exotic medicine and surgery. In 2012 Siuna was awarded a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Zoological Medicine). This follows two years of hard work and study and is the achievement of a long held ambition to obtain a qualification in exotic medicine

Fiona M. Connolley

Fiona graduated from Glasgow University Veterinary College in 1979. Fiona is very interested in surgery and spends as much time as possible in the operating theatre. Over the years Fiona has built up considerable skill with the ultrasound machine allowing rapid in house diagnosis of heart conditions and frustrating abdominal conditions. This prevents the need for clients to be referred to other surgeries allowing a quicker diagnosis, which in turn insures correct treatment as soon as possible.

Sara M. Seedall

Sara graduated from Glasgow University Veterinary College in 2002. Sara is changing to part time work in September. This allows her the opportunity to support her family and dairy farmer husband, James. Sara has an interest in ophthalmology.

Ian Cartmell

We are delighted to welcome Ian as a permanent member of the team, having spent a bit of time with us in the past when he was a locum. Ian graduated from Liverpool University Veterinary College in 1998, and subsequently gained experience in a wide variety of practices. He has an interest in ophthalmology and surgery. Whenever he can, Ian loves spending time in his campervan and wearing out his hiking boots.

Zoe Costigan

Zoe graduated from Liverpool University Veterinary College in 2004. She worked at the surgery for 4 years before moving to Harrogate. We are delighted that Zoe will be joining us again in September. Zoe has already completed her General Practitioner in Internal Medicine and has started studying for her Royal College certificate in internal medicine.

Sheena Brimelow

Sheena graduated from Liverpool University in 1992, following completion of her BSc Hons in Zoology at the University of Durham. We are delighted that Sheena has joined us to further consolidate our experience of small animal medicine.

John Nimmo

John is our weekend emergency vet. John graduated from Cambridge University Veterinary College in 1996. John worked for a long time with the PDSA where he developed excellent surgical skills in soft tissue and particularly orthopaedics. This again means that most surgical operations can be carried out at the surgery reducing the need for referral and travel.
